Gas Manifold For Oxygen Supply In Industrial Applications

Gas manifolds from PNEUMSYS ADVANCE ENERGY SOLUTIONS (PAES) provide continuous gas service to your application.

Gas manifolds are designed to connect and change out several cylinders of industrial gases in a safe and cost-effective manner, according to the design attribute. Furthermore, the regulator handling is eliminated.

Injury to employees or damage to equipment may occur in poor situations.

Pipelines and gas manifolds for oxygen supply

A gas manifold regulates the pressure in a gas container, cylinder, or bundle. A manifold is typically made up of a supply unit and a backup unit.

At a basic level, the entire gas manifold system consists of:

  • A primary source
  • A vaporizer
  • Pipelines
  • Regulators of pressure (decreasing pressure along with the system)
  • Service and manual shut-off valves (to isolate whole sections of the system)
  • Pressure release valves should be installed upstream of any regulators and shut-off valves to avoid the entire system from exploding.
  • Pressure monitors and alarms to detect when you’re running low on oxygen.

Benefits of a gas manifold:

  • streamlining the handling of gas cylinders
  • decreases transport expenses
  • lowers cylinder lease expenses
  • minimizes the need for space
  • making gas cylinders easier to handle in an emergency situation, such as a fire

Gas manifolds can be manual or fully/semi-automated, including an alarm feature to indicate when gas is running low.

Gas pipes are typically made of materials chosen based on the application and properties of the gas in issue.

Pipe system classifications are based on the following factors:

  • toxicity of the chemical
  • chemical form (gas/liquid)
  • nominal pipe diameter (DN)
  • highest working pressure (PS)

The gas is obtained from gas pipe networks at the end-use location via an outlet connection, where the gas pressure and flow rate are controlled. A shutdown valve, pressure regulator, optional flow meter, and hose connector are included in the outlet units.

Emergency Oxygen Inlet Stations Instructions

General Requirements:

  • Emergency oxygen input stations must adhere to the relevant industry requirements.
  • The Emergency Gaseous Oxygen Inlet must be housed in a weather-resistant recessed or surface-mount enclosure.
  • The directions for connecting and using the emergency oxygen inlet must be clearly labeled on the interior of the enclosure.
  • The enclosure door must be branded “Emergency Low-Pressure Gaseous Oxygen Inlet” and furnished with a padlocking staple to allow only authorized personnel access.

Recessed Emergency Oxygen Inlet Stations (Low Pressure)

  • The input connection shall be a 1″ female NPT connection with a plug to prevent extraneous matter from entering the oxygen system when not in use.
  • A 1″ brass ball valve will control emergency supply access, and the gauge will show the pressure being introduced into the Oxygen pipeline.
  • The enclosure door must be branded “Emergency Low-Pressure Gaseous Oxygen Inlet” and furnished with a padlocking staple to allow only authorized personnel access.
  • To trim recessed mounting on an exterior wall, a mounting frame must reach entirely around the enclosure.
  • By altering the front label, the box can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
  • The check valves must have a three-piece design with a replaceable body.
  • The check valves must be a three-piece design with a removable body for servicing without the need for line cutting or disassembly. Valves must be outfitted with type-K copper extensions for pipeline connections.

Recessed Emergency Oxygen Inlet Station (High Pressure)

  • The intake connection must only accept a CGA 540 connection and be equipped with a nut to prevent extraneous materials from entering the Oxygen system when not in use.
  • A 1″ brass ball valve and a high-pressure regulator manage emergency supply access and show supply pressure and pressure put into the Oxygen pipeline.
  • The enclosure door must be branded “Emergency High Pressure Gaseous Oxygen Inlet” and furnished with a padlocking staple to allow only authorized personnel access.
  • To trim recessed mounting on an exterior wall, a mounting frame must reach entirely around the enclosure.
  • Dual digital gauges for supply and delivery pressures are required on the device.
